Shelley Wilson, President

Shelley Wilson learned about the importance of quality homecare while recovering from serious injuries caused by an automobile accident while on active duty military training. Inspired by her experience, Shelley founded Wilson Homecare in 1996. She has guided the company’s growth into one of the state’s most successful private homecare agencies, with more than 200 employees providing personal home healthcare services in residences across Oahu. Wilson Homecare is licensed in Hawaii and certified by the Joint Commission Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations.

As a disabled veteran, Shelley identifies with the challenges facing patients during recovery or in times of uncertain health. She has utilized her military leadership skills in creating a phenomenal team of highly competent and compassionate caregivers able to provide clients with premium home healthcare services.

Shelley’s management skills have earned many awards, including Pacific Business News’ "40 under Forty," and Wilson Homecare has twice been named one of PBN’s "Fastest 50" companies. In 2005, the success of Wilson Homecare was recognized in Forbes magazine.

Shelley is active in the business community, volunteering as a board member for the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii and chairing its Health Issues Committee, as well as serving on the Healthcare Association of Hawaii and its advisory panel for homecare. Shelley was the 2007 president of the Organization of Women Leaders. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Private Duty Home Care, National Private Duty Association, and National Association of Female Executives.

While she devotes many hours to business and community organizations, Shelley also provides international support to aid underprivileged children. She traveled to Africa with Rotary International to help vaccinate children for polio in 2004 and spent time in Vietnam with the "Kids without Borders" humanitarian group in 2005.
